The following three contestants each won $5,000 this weekend at the Angostura Bitters North American Cocktail Challenge. Below are their winning recipes.

1/2 oz. Grenadine
1 Barspoon Sugar
2 Orange Slices
Copious amounts Angostura Aromatic Bitters

EXPLORATION COCKTAIL
1 1/2 oz. Angostura 1919 Rum
1/2 oz. Clement Creole Shrub
1/2 oz. Madeira
8-10 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters
Garnish: Single Clove studded orange zest

FIVE ISLAND FIZZ
1 1/2 oz. Angostura 5 Year Rum
3/4 oz. Velvet Falernum
1/4 oz. Luxardo Maraschino
1/2 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
1 1/2 oz. Barrits Ginger Beer
5 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters
Garnish: Lime wheel wrapped around a brandied cherry.

ON SECOND THOUGHT
1 1/2 oz. Applejack
1/2 oz. Benedictine
1/2 oz. Cherry Heering
1/2 oz. Maple Syrup
3/4 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
5 dashes Angostura Aromatic Bitters
Garnish: De-hydrated, cinnamon dusted lemon wheel.

3/4 oz. Fresh Lime Juice
1 3/4 oz. Demerara Syrup (separated)
1 oz. Egg Whites
1 oz. Angostura Aromatic Bitters

Garnish: Grated nutmeg.

Lemon Twist
1 1/2 oz. Green Chartreuse
1/4 oz. Angostura Aromatic Bitters
Garnish Campari Mist
